Casper was a Cordwainer (shoemaker) by occupation, but he was also a prosperous land owner. He would eventually own more than 1000 acres inthe Upper Mahantongo Valley in (then) Berks Co., PA. He died in Upper Mahantongo (area now part of Eldred) Twp., Schuylkill Co., PA. At the time of his death, he was still in possesion of 250 acres of land. Casper was buried on the portion of his property given for the Zion Church and Cemetery. NOTE: Revolutionary War Service - Private (1st Class) in 2nd Battalion, 1st Company, Northampton County Militia - under the command of Captain Joseph Kooken. Together, they werethe parents of Jacob Reitz (1803 - 1877), Lydia Hannah (Reitz) Tressler (1807 - 1879), Benjamin Reitz (1808 - 1838), Samuel Reitz (1812 -1872), Daniel H. Reitz (1813 - 1889), Maria (Reitz) Miller (1815 - 1899), Susan (Reitz) Zartman (1816 - 1842), Isaac H. Reitz (1818 - 1894), Catherine (Reitz) Fegley (1822 - 1870), Joseph H.
